Led by the Department for Trade, Tourism and Investment, the initiative offers grants up to A$80,000, particularly to the following priority sectors:

  • Food, wine and agribusiness
  • International education
  • Tourism
  • Energy and minerals
  • Defence and space industries
  • The hi-tech sector
  • Health and medical industries
  • Creative industries
For companies who are eager to build a presence in South Australia, the SALP is a valuable tool to take advantage of, as it offers more than just a financial package. It also helps businesses find a foothold in a new location, boosts the local economy and allows companies to quickly develop strong connections with local vendors, partners, customers and collaborators.

Adelaide is becoming a fast-growing destination for global companies, with several large conglomerates establishing bases in the state capital, presenting numerous opportunities for both start-ups and established businesses.

Eligibility criteria

To meet the requirements, your company will need to:

  • Have been operating for a minimum of 12 months in your home market or interstate
  • Incorporate a company in South Australia (i.e. paying GST in Australia) for international companies
  • Commit to working full-time in South Australia for a minimum 12 months and to grow your business in the state
  • Create employment in South Australia.
Support available
  • Up to $40,000 to access the Landing Pad innovation and co-working hubs.
  • Up to $40,000 to access professional support and advice.
  • Case management to help navigate, network and participate in the local ecosystem.
Application process
  • Applications are by invitation-only and registrations will be assessed on a merit-based process.
