We understand from reliable sources that computers are to be increasingly used by the tax authorities in an attempt to counter tax evasion. Databases are being assembled of sales contracts entered into by Ukrainian manufacturers of excisable goods such as alcohol and tobacco as well as other enterprises targeted by local tax authorities. The accumulated data is to be exchanged between tax authorities to ensure that purchasers of excisable goods pay taxes properly.
