The Bahamas will be represented at the 5th Annual Offshore Financial Services Summit on May 26-27, at Simpson's-in-the-Strand, London.

BFSB CEO and Executive Director Wendy C. Warren will participate on a Panel, Reaction of Different Jurisdictions to the Changing Offshore and Onshore Environment, along with representatives from the Isle of Man and Mauritius.

This Euromoney Seminars event allows participants to capitalise on the latest developments in Offshore Financial Services, and to hear top industry experts address the issues most relevant to maintaining a competitive edge. The Summit is Law Society and Pensions Management Institute accredited, offering 12 and 15 CPD hours, respectively.

In addition to the key international financial services jurisdictions and major service providers in each, the event has attracted participation from the European Commission and the UK’s Financial Services Authority.

Key conference benefits:

  • Networking with professionals including lawyers, private bankers and representatives from a diverse range of jurisdictions
  • Discussion on the challenges and opportunities ahead including changing trends in tax law and new developments in Trusts. Finding out how these are altering the industry and what strategies to adopt for the future
  • Analysis and comparison of regulatory, legal and fiscal environments of key offshore centres and understanding the importance of getting practices in these environments right

During the 2-day event, Expert Speaker Panels will tackle key current market issues such as EU directives, the aspirations of the OECD, the role of the FATF and IMF, changes in anti-money laundering approaches and activities, the Parmalat fallout, the US Patriot Act, tax treaty developments, professional privilege and client confidentiality.

Euromoney Seminars is a division of Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC and operates from its headquarters in London. It is one of the world's leading financial conference organisers.
