We are pleased to share recent leadership updates across our firm, effective 1 June.
In our Nairobi office, Mahesh Acharya has been appointed Head of Office, succeedingNigel Shaw. Mahesh brings deep experience, strong client relationships and a clear vision for continued growth in Kenya. We look forward to the next chapter of the Nairobi practice under his leadership.
Nigel steps down following a significant period of growth, having played a key role in establishing and building the office. He will continue to support clients while focusing on his practice, and we thank him for his steady and respected leadership. Nigel reflects on his time as office head, "It has been an extremely rewarding last few years as the managing partner of the ENS' Kenya office from the day it was established to watching it grow to the heights we have reached today . I am delighted to pass the baton to Mahesh, who started the office with Binti, Amar and me. I have full confidence in his abilities and with the support of our exceptional team, I have no doubt that the office will continue to thrive and prosper. I would like to thank you all of our clients for their unwavering support and dedication over the years. Whilst I hand over managing partner to Mahesh, I am not retiring and will continue with my practice and assisting our clients."
In our Tax practice, Andries Myburgh has been appointed Head of Tax, taking over from Peter Dachs. Andries is widely recognised for his technical expertise and strategic insight, and is well positioned to lead the practice forward in an increasingly complex environment.
Peter transitions from the role after many years of dedicated leadership, during which he helped shape and grow the practice into a market leader. He will continue to focus on his clients, and we are grateful for his ongoing contribution. Reflecting on this transition, Peter commented: "Leading the Tax practice has been a deeply rewarding experience and I am proud of what we have achieved together with our clients and colleagues. Building long-standing relationships and supporting our clients through increasingly complex tax landscapes has been particularly meaningful. I am confident that Andries is the right person to take the practice forward and build on this strong foundation. I look forward to continuing to contribute to the firm while focusing on my own practice."
Mzi Mgudlwa, CE, comments, "These appointments reflect both the strength of our leadership and the depth of talent across our firm. We thank Nigel and Peter for the role they have played in shaping these practices and we look forward to the continued growth of our Nairobi office and Tax practice under Mahesh and Andries."
We congratulate Mahesh and Andries on their appointments and thank Nigel and Peter for their leadership and lasting impact.
