Holland & Knight has strengthened its market-leading International Trade Group with the addition of Partner Nathan Mitchell in Washington, D.C., who will co-lead the Firm's CFIUS and Industrial Security Team.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 30, 2026)– Holland & Knight has strengthened its market-leading International Trade Group with the addition of Partner Nathan Mitchell in Washington, D.C., who will co-lead the Firm's CFIUS and Industrial Security Team. He was previously a partner with Paul, Weiss and, earlier in his career, served in key legal roles for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and U.S. Army.

Mr. Mitchell advises on a broad range of national security matters, including reviews by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and Committee for the Assessment of Foreign Participation in the U.S. Telecommunications Services Sector (Team Telecom), as well as on U.S. export controls and economic sanctions. He counsels a diverse range of clients, including U.S. and foreign private equity sponsors, as well as U.S. and foreign companies across a variety of industries.

Mr. Mitchell previously served as associate general counsel in ODNI and as a staff attorney in the Foreign Investment Review Section of the DOJ's National Security Division. He began his career as a lawyer for the U.S. Army in the Office of the Army General Counsel in both active duty and civilian positions.
