On 9 April 2024, the Home Office issued guidance for handling immigration applications affected by the Coronavirus Extension Concession and Exceptional Assurance Concession. The guidance clarifies how these concessions apply to entry clearance, permission to stay, and settlement, ensuring applicants are not penalized for pandemic-related overstays.

The drop is equivalent to 4.3% of the licensed sector since March 2022, and an average of 12.6 closures a day.
