The Regulation on Geographic Data Permits (the “Regulation”), published in Official Gazette No. 33400 of 14 October 2026, requires individuals, private-law legal entities and foreign individuals and legal entities that collect, produce, share or sell geographic data within the National Geographic Data Responsibility Matrix (the “Matrix”) for commercial purposes to obtain a permit from the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change (the “Ministry”).

In publicly traded companies, serving on the board of directors entails various obligations regarding the management and representation of the company, stemming from both the Turkish Commercial Code (“TCC”) and the company's articles of association. Non-compliance with these duties may not only give rise to the personal civil or criminal liability of board members but may even result in recourse to their personal assets for certain public debts.
